WATCH: Eric Miyeni on his broadcasting journey, acting career, and that kiss with Elizabeth Hurley

By Staff Reporter

Johannesburg – The second episode of Media Pod features an insightful and, at times, humorous conversation with actor, talk show host, and lawyer Eric Miyeni.

In South Africa, media veterans are often forgotten once they leave the spotlight — their voices fade, and their contributions go unrecognised. Media Pod was created to change that. Through first-person storytelling, the platform honours the trailblazers who shaped the local media landscape.

In this episode, Miyeni — who grew up in Soweto — opens up about his childhood, his career in acting and writing, and how he landed his SAFM show. He also shares his thoughts on the ANC, South Africa’s Government of National Unity (GNU), the war in Palestine, and the power of media. And yes, he revisits that unforgettable on-screen kiss with Elizabeth Hurley.

WATCH: Pulapula Mothibi, former Lesedi FM boss, reflects on his broadcasting journey and the power mix saga

By Staff Reporter

Johannesburg – The debut episode of Media Pod launches with a powerful and candid conversation featuring Pulapula Mothibi, former station manager of Lesedi FM.

In South Africa, media veterans are often forgotten once they step away from the mic, camera, or newsroom. Their contributions fade into obscurity, and their stories go untold. Media Pod was created to change that — to honour these legends and preserve their legacies through first-person storytelling for future generations.

For its premiere, Media Pod sits down with Mothibi, who began his career as a qualified teacher before swapping the chalkboard for the airwaves when he joined Radio Sesotho as a presenter. His rise through the ranks eventually saw him succeed the late Teboho Koekoe as station manager in the post-democracy era. In this revealing conversation, Mothibi pulls no punches — sharing his personal journey, career highlights, and unfiltered thoughts on the infamous power mix saga.
